Process
The vineyard’s most popular Shiraz takes its name from the tools used by miners on
the property in the 1860s. It’s the flagship of the Winburndale range, so the client felt
strongly about maintaining elements of the existing identity.
We stripped back the presentation of the mining tools and kept the dark background,
creating the aesthetic of an emblem or crest. Simple yet elegant.

I worked with the client to develop a style for the new labels to replace
all old designs. We wanted them to be simple, elegant and a bit bohemian, but still to be connected to the vinyard history. I created an artwork that visually represents the layers of soil or vineyard hills and slopes.
The Remnant
The new vintage in the range deserved its own, unique label.
Remnant in an embodiment of the vinyard's rich soil and was named
to celebrate the gold mining heritage. It is a more spohisticated and expensive vintage, so I used gold splatter to combine the fun,and carefree bohemian style with a bit of glamour.
